Classic Grooming Gifts For Your Groomsmen

By Alex Shaw

We all have a few friends that need a little help with their personal appearance. Odds are if you're like most guys, you have at least a couple of groomsmen that cause you more than a little concern. Don't worry, you're not the first guy in history to stare blankly at the ceiling nights or weeks before your wedding and ponder, "What will he do at my wedding?" "Will he show up dressed as a Viking, or worse?" Don't fret; there are ways of gently pushing your groomsmen, even those without any fashion sense, in the right direction.

Tiny changes to one's personal appearance can make a simply massive difference in the overall presentation. After all, gifts are better when wrapped and gifts with bows are all the better. Now, no one is saying you need to have your groomsmen show up like manicured French poodles. But a few key additions can make a world of difference. Take, for example, the seemingly simple cufflinks. Sharp and stylish cufflinks can really make an entire outfit come to life with an extra pitch of polish.

Cufflinks are simply fantastic groomsmen's gifts as they can be easily customizable and come in a nearly mind-boggling array of styles. Many men, especially (how should we state this?) well... the more "fashion challenged" amongst us, are likely to not even own a pair of cufflinks. Giving your groomsmen a sharp set of personalized cufflinks also clues them in that your wedding is an affair where they will need to show up wearing their best and looking their best. With this in mind, there are cufflinks in all sorts of shapes and sizes, ranging from the lucky pair of dice to nearly any shape you can imagine. Just take a look for yourself!

Of course, there is no rule that says you must give your groomsmen cufflinks. Consider some of the other classic options; such as the classic old-fashioned shaving set. While this razor and bristle brush combo might seem a bit dated, it infuses any man's bathroom with a certain charm that will instantly add a touch of class. Of course, an old-fashioned shaving set also gives your groomsmen a not so subtle hint that they need to show up shaven to your wedding!

Another timeless option that is sure to please is the Dopp kit. The Dopp kit is a great way to help your groomsmen keep track of all their various toiletries. Best of all, they come in a wide variety of styles that can be personalized. Part of the Dopp kit's charm is that it is a highly utilitarian gift that your groomsmen will use long after your wedding is over, whether during travel or at the gym.
